Throwback Track of the Day – CD III’s “Get Tough” (1984)
I wish I had something to say about CD III but I really don’t know a whole lot? Just yesterday I was walking past the basketball courts near my house and some folks had this blaring out of their boom box. 2 days later – you all get this. The track was featured briefly on the Peanut Butter Wolf mix from a few months ago (HERE). One member of CD III – Howie Tee – was an English-born producer and DJ who went on to work with folks like Chubb Rock, Special Ed, and the Real Roxanne. No matter what this is an awesome old school join to appreciate and play loudly out of your own boom box. This is basically a PSA with a beat that’s kickin!
