Throwback Track of the Day – Egyptian Lover’s “And My Beat Goes Boom” (1983)

I recently scored The Egyptian Lover’s album Back from the Tomb for the hefty price of $3.99 at my local music shop. Definitely not his best work nor an old school album. The track for today is definitely an old school classic that I had never heard of until I caught a snippet of the song used in Peanut Butter Wolf’s Yo! 45 Raps (HERE).

The Egyptian Lover (Greg Broussard) basically has three themes to his music: being a freak, looking for freaks, and gettin’ with freaks – all while sporting gold rings on each finger. Anyways, check out the song and especially the video. Good stuff!

Also the video for Freak-A-Holic where the E.L. shows you his moves and makes a visit to Freak-A-Holics Anonymous…
