A Boy Genius, Polka Dots, & The Bone Age (1989-91)

Corny: Yes
Stupid: Yes
Dated: Possibly?
Good: Indeed!!
I remember Kwame’s influence over my friend PK as he started coming to school with polka-dot shirts and ties. Kwame’s first album – The Boy Genius – dropped in 1989 and was recorded when he was only 16 years old (far outdoing anything I had accomplished at 16 or even now). As corny as some of this music was (and still is) – it was still a fun time in hip-hop where groups like Kid N Play, Nice & Smooth, and others could exist without being poked fun of. These days Kid N Play probably couldn’t even get signed by the Disney label. Anyways, here are a few Kwame gems released during the Bone Age:
The Rhythm – HERE
The Man We All Know And Love – HERE
Hai Love – HERE
Ownlee Eue – HERE
